In the opening speech of the President of the IHK, the commitment of CRRC Tangshan in Brandenburg was acknowledged and the successful work of the " Technology Bridge of the Capital Region" was highlighted:
"In this context, the Cottbus Chamber of Commerce and Industry supports with its forces all activities that help the companies of our region to open up new markets abroad. A prime example of this is the "Technology Bridge Capital Region". This initiative specifically arranges international contacts for technology-savvy companies from Berlin and Brandenburg. This is one of the ways in which contact was made with CRRC Tangshan, our guest from China today. With around 170,000 employees, the CRRC Corporation is one of the world's largest companies for rail transport technology.
In the "Technology Bridge Capital Region", the Cottbus Chamber of Commerce and Industry naturally works together with many partners. These include the other IHKs in the state or the Brandenburg Economic Development Corporation. I would like to emphasise that this initiative is largely due to the commitment of Mr Gerard Pieper, Managing Director of Pieper Innovationsgesellschaft in Lübbenau and a member of the Cottbus Chamber of Industry and Commerce's Foreign Trade Committee.
Intensive cooperation negotiations are currently taking place between the CRRC Tangshan and DB Systemtechnik, but also with other companies and research institutions. And LKT Lausitzer Klärtechnik GmbH from Luckau was already able to conclude a cooperation agreement with the Chinese group a few weeks ago. The first orders are already in the pipeline. I offer my warmest congratulations on this success."
